The Harvest Moon 2020
The first of TWO full moons in October this year is the Harvest Moon. This moon will rise above the horizon around sunset so traditionally this extra light gave farmers more time to harvest beyond sunset - hence where this moon gets its name.
The Harvest Moon is also the full moon that happens closest to the autumnal equinox, which was September 22 this year.
What have you been cultivating this year? A new lifestyle? A new relationship? A new career? More joy? More peace? More compassion?
Whatever it is, now is the time to start harvesting the fruits of your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual labor. Perhaps take a few minutes to meditate, reflect or journal on what that means for you.
Full Moon Yoga Hikes this week!
We’ll hike up to the mountaintop, do a lunar / letting go themed practice as the sun sets and then hike back down in the dark. (So bring a light source with you.) We’ll provide mats but you are also welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Weather forecast is actually looking good, y’all!
Register online because space is limited to only 8 people per evening.
Thursday, Oct 1, 6:15 - 8:15 PM
Friday, Oct 2, 6:15 - 8:15 PM
Saturday, Oct 3, 6:15 - 8:15 PM
So excited to see y’all this week!
If you can’t make it this weekend, there is also a second full moon (aka a Blue Moon) at the end of the month including Halloween! We’ll have our last full moon hikes of the year Oct 30, Oct 31 and Nov 1 from 5:15 - 6:15 PM.
These are going to fill up fast so grab your spot before it’s gone!
And if you’re nowhere near Asheville, enjoy this 30 minute full moon Yoga Nidra practice any where, any time. (It’s best to practice in the evening before bed but not IN bed.)
