I guess I’ve always been a tree-hugger as long as I can remember.

Much of my early childhood was spent climbing the big oak tree (and pretending to be a squirrel) in the backyard. I still have a scar above my lip where I fell out of it once face first. In middle school, my way of defending the trees behind our house was to throw rocks at the guy driving the equipment that was tearing them down to make way for a sewer system.

My sister and I. Not my childhood backyard but still an oak tree. OMG. So much denim.

When designing the logo for Namaste in Nature, I almost instantly envisioned tree pose in a tree shape. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to be able to give back and One Tree Planted was the perfect non-profit partner to support.

Trees essential for life. As the biggest plants in the world, trees store carbon, give us oxygen, stabilize the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. They also provide us with food and the materials for tools and shelter. They’re also the longest living species on earth, giving us a link between the past, present and future.

One dollar + one yoga pose + one tree can change someone’s entire life.

India suffered a massive cyclone in May that demolished nearly 10 million trees in India resulting in a massive loss of food, income and air quality.

Namaste in Nature has partnered with One Tree Planted to drive a tree donation challenge for India, the birthplace of yoga.

On Sunday, September 1st, join our global #treeposetribe by simply contributing $1 to plant 1 tree (or more) then sharing an image of you in tree pose on Instagram (or Facebook) along with the tree donation challenge information below.

🌲 We need your help to donate and plant 108,000 trees!

Will you join our #treeposetribe?
More details below and let me know if you have any questions!

🌲 WHY: India is the birthplace of yoga. In May 2019, Cyclone Fani became the worst storm to hit India in decades. Many people died, homes were destroyed, and the cost of the damage has been estimated to exceed $1.8 billion.

Over 10 million trees were lost - many fruit-bearing - affecting over 66,000 families dependent on the fruit for food and income.

Take a moment to join our #treeposetribe and give a gift that cleans and cools the air and empowers people to survive and thrive for years to come.
